PEMU was founded in 2014 and officially registered in June/2018 as an NGO. PEMU has rooted its work in the district of Mayuge, Jinja, Kamuli, Bugiri and Iganga.
From access to Safe Clean Water to Safe Motherhood plus Maternal Health, from Access to quality Education to empowering the youths to become more self reliant, from working with available local resource to create wealth to sexual reproductive health and rights.
A Uganda with healthy and empowered women and girls accessing quality and equitable health and care services at the same time seeing that their rights are respected in Uganda.
To contribute towards raising the level, quality and equity of health and care services and advocate for the women and girls in Uganda through increasing access, advocacy, empowerment and working with other development actors.
Welcome to our Website. It is over three years since Poverty Eradication Mission (PEMU) took on the journey of empowering the girl child and women of Uganda. Partnerships and compliance are some critical areas that have enabled us see that our mission and vision are brought to pass. We would like to salute all stake holders that have supported PEMU in various ways.

It is my great honor as the Patron of Poverty Eradication Mission Uganda (PEMU) to welcome you this website. Am indeed privileged to be part of this great team that has determined itself to make a contribution towards the development of our nation Uganda through girl child and women empowerment.
The venture we have undertaken under the name, PEMU is a noble one and our mission “To contribute towards raising the level, quality and equity of health and care services and advocate for the women and girls in Uganda through increasing access, advocacy, empowerment and working with other development actors”
We welcome all stakeholders, i.e. the government, non-government organisations, donors, well-wishers etc. to cooperate with us in this endeavor. Our commitment to deliver has no bounds.
Youth we have an on going Fish farm cages project which started in 2013. The project is so far in Misoli village Mayuge district and it has 10 cages.
PEMU carries out a range of community engagement activities with deprived communities and individuals.
As part of our work to fight poverty and providing evidence on poverty, we work directly with communities to help them undertake community research.
